Below the cut is one of the better YouTube videos I've seen. Beware, it's very, very 80s...

Things to spot - Battersea Power Station at the start, East Croydon looking a lot less built up than it does today, Gatwick, and the huge viaduct at Haywards Heath.

That background music is tremendous! I looked hard but still have no idea which bit was Croydon though...

I think it's about a third of the way in, there's a collection of very tall buildings and a large station, although it looks a lot less built up in the video than it does today.

I have to agree with Tine, my eyes hurt! This also amuses me greatly as you posted just a few days after I decided to apply to university in both Brighton and London.

I think you'd like Brighton. Which of our prestigious academes did you put your name down for?

Lalalalalala can't hear you.

I'm sure you said what you're going to read, but I've been skimming the past couple of weeks - is you still going down the nursing route or something different? Either way I hope you get in, it's a beautiful city and you can pester Lowell if you need to.

Still doing the Nursing route, Children's this time. I'm applying to Brighton, City, London South Bank and Manchester. Hopefully me and [livejournal.com profile] akahannah are going to be flatmates.

They were much more with the RP accents still in the eighties ... to a degree that I don't recall. Anyway, yes, awesome :D:D

Very cool, {even if|partly because} the background music sounds like it comes from the Commodore 64, and the YouTube filter {doesn't|does} help in that regard.

Rather hillier and tunnel-ier than I would have expected, but then again my grasp of geography of the South is weak. (Though less weak than it was, having picked Meg up from Gatwick!) Also surprising that so much of it is only 2-track line.
