I was going to put up an entry tonight anyway, but it was going to be a happy entry and right now I'm not feeling terribly happy. One of my favourite comedians, Linda Smith, has died. She was 48 and she had ovarian cancer and that was completely unexpected and very upsetting. Radio 4 is going to be a quieter place.

Oh no...

That makes me sad too. My thoughts to her family, her friends and anyone else grieving at this time, definitely including you.

My god.

I didn't even know she was ill. Bloody hell. As you say, very upsetting.

Btw, I'm really glad I checked LJ just before I finished doing late duty tonight, otherwise the first I would have known would have been hearing her obituary on Front Row while I was driving which would not have been a god idea.

I'm just heard it on the news and didn't even realise she was ill. She will be greatly missed.

Yes, this was completely unexpected and endlessly sad news. She was great.
