So, I'm currently enduring Loose Women (the TV show, Paris and Nicole haven't broken into my flat or anything) and wondering whether or not my time would be more productively spent doing anything else, anything at all, really. Anyway, a commercial break just swooshed by and they had little bumpers around the programme, you know the kind; this show is sponsored by brand x. In this case, it was Maltesers, which are 'so light that you have to find other ways to be naughty'.

In this case, Mars seems to have decided that if women can't be naughty by eating chocolate, they have to be naughty by being outrageous sluts instead.

Shitting hell, it's like 40 years of feminism never happened sometimes.

So far they have talked about matching your bra to your pants and now they have a gay guy with stupid hair on talking about America's Next Top Model.

I mean, I knew this show wasn't Betty Friedan Live, but it's not like, oh, I don't know, the possibly-first female VP of the United States doesn't think rape victims should abort or anything.

I have still not seen the debate.

It frustrates me whenever a women claims not to be a feminist or 'believe' in feminism. when questioned further they either say they believe in equal rights for everyone (and I counter that women are still discriminated against compared to men in society in so many ways, economic, social, even who bloody towns are laid out) or they claim that feminist is all about getting one over on men and they don't think that's right or they say they don't see the need because women have everything they need...

But then I've also have a highly educated man tell me that no citizen of this country has ever died for the right to vote so it's not just women who are ignorant of the struggle for equality.
