So, think of the wrongest thing you can think of ... like Limbaugh/Phelps RPS ... and it would only be slightly more wrong than how wrong I feel the imminent coronation of Gordon Brown will be.
The reasons for not wanting him in power are many and varied, but let's talk about systematic looting of the state pension, the thousands of pounds of student debt we're saddled with, the fact we will have no chance of getting on the property ladder before the age of 40 ... not to mention the bloody West Lothian Question.
I'm increasingly agreeing with a growing set of people who are saying that to crown a prime minister in the manner that we are doing is to pretty effectively scupper the democratic process. And I think we should have a general election. A petition to this effect is currently working its way through the Downing Street system. Of course, the government completely ignores these petitions, they only exist to attempt to preserve the illusion of democracy, but the more people who speak up the greater the chance they might suddenly notice what people are actually saying. The petition is here if you feel so inclined.
For my part, we all know that barring his sudden expouree as an Islamist paedophile Guardianista, David Cameron is going to romp home at the next election, so we might as well have an election now and punt him into Number 10, that way we can get the inevitable period of Conservative government out of the way a couple of years sooner - they could get the boot by 2013 instead of 2015 - so that'll be two years earlier that we can start realistically campaigning for full marriage rights ...
Thoughts on Blair still working their way through the system, I'll post more later but would be interested to hear your thoughts on dear old Gordon.
Meanwhile, does anybody want to come over and watch Eurovision later?
