Nov. 1st, 2005 09:52 pmThere's been a nip to the air in these parts and a nice autumnal display from the trees in the park. In the early mornings there's mist drifting wraithlike along the tube tracks and the path is thick with decaying leaves and heady with decay. This morning I saw my friend the Dulux Dog in the park. The Dulux Dog is a local canine character, a big, shaggy dog with what seems like a permanent grin on its face. He likes chasing tube trains. The line runs parallel to the park and the trains are pretty frequent, and more than once I've seen this dog bounding across the park, scattering squirrels, other dogs and small children, inspired to olympian sprints by the rattling trains, a huge doggy beam plastered across its whiskery face.
I have, however, caught a horrid, rotten cold off
malachan, which caused me to spend large amounts of time in bed over the weekend, coughing and feeling generally miserable. But I had an
aegeus for company, so that made a horrible weekened bearable. I still feel rotten, but I'm taking a long weekend as if I feel it's richly deserved at this point, and so tomorrow I'll have a boy to cuddle again.
Hey ho. Off to bed.
